Welcome to the Park Tennis Club
We are delighted to be welcoming new and returning members to the Club. We are a vibrant and thriving club (not to 2023 mention Nottinghamshire Club of the Year, Midlands Club of the Year and Runner up for National Club of the Year!) and offer opportunities for everyone to get involved in the Club through a variety of events and activities. So whether you have only been with us a few days or are feeling more settled, if you want to know more about Club life read on...
Social tennis
We have four social sessions a week. Details of the sessions can be found here: Club Life
All our social sessions are open to members who are playing at social standard and above (i.e. can serve and maintain a rally). The sessions are fun, friendly and a great way to meet other members. The sessions last two hours and in that time you will have 3 x 30 minute games. A snazzy sign up board is used to determine which courts you play on, in which order and ensure you play with a variety of players. If you are trying it out for the first time, there will be plenty of people on hand to explain how it works, just don't forget to sign up on Court Reserve!

Box leagues
A popular intra Club singles tournament, Box Leagues run on roughly a monthly basis. The Box Leagues offer those who want it, an opportunity to compete in singles and work on match play tactics.
All entrants are assigned to a league with players of a similar standard. Over the course of the legaue, each player will play every other player in their league. The format for Box Leagues is singles and matches comprise a single set, with a 7 point tie-break played if it reaches 6-6.
At the end of each Box League, the results are tallied and winners crowned! A system of promotion an relegation is used to move players up and down the 'Boxes' based on performance.
Watch out for the end of each month for an email from [email protected] opening up entries for the next league.
For more information, please contact Alex Thompson.

Stay in touch
We have a number of whats app groups operating across the Club facilitating communications (and the odd 'Spot the Ball' competition). The main group is known as 'Social Tennis' and there are some more focused groups as well. If you are interested in knowing what groups we have and joining, please contact Maggie (our New Member Co-ordinator) who will be happy to fill you in.
