Club life - weekly sessions

There's no end of opportunities to play tennis and get involved in Club life here at the Park Tennis Club. Here is the round up all the weekly events we have to offer.

Social Tennis

We have four social tennis sessions running each week. Social tennis is at the heart of the Club and offers members a great opportunity to meet new members and play with a variety of Club members. Fun and enjoyable two hour sessions are open to all members who can play tennis at a social standard and higher (i.e. serve and maintain a rally).

Thursdays 1pm - 3pm

Can't wait for the weekend to get a hit in? Then this Thursday social is the ideal midweek hit for you.

Fridays 6pm - 8pm

It's tennis under the floodlights! The weekend is calling and the Bar is open too.

Saturdays 2pm - 4pm

Is there a more idyllic way to spend a Saturday afternoon than playing tennis in the beautiful surroundings of the Park Estate?

Sundays 10am - 12pm

Wake up to Sundays with an early morning hit.

Focused Social Tennis sessions

Complementing our Social Tennis programme we also have the following regular events.

Beginners' Social
Mondays 6pm - 7pm

Our popular Beginners' Socials will be back from Monday 4 March.
These sessions offer those new to tennis and developing skills an opportunity to meet other players starting out as well.

Open Hitting
Fortnightly Saturdays 10am - 12pm

Fortnightly Saturday sessions 10am - 12pm.
These relaxed Saturday sessions are open to all ladies playing at social level and higher. Pop-up cafe is open too!

Team Tennis

We have 10 teams competing in the Nottinghamshire leagues and more entered into National League competitions. With Team tennis proving so popular we run dedicated squad tranining sessions. If competitive tennis is your thing, speak to one of our Team Captains to find out about how to get involved.

Coaching sessions

Here at the Park Tennis Club we are fortunate to have the support of the M & J Tennis Coaching Team. Our joint Head Coaches, Matt Williamson and Jan Burnett have put together a carefully designed coaching programme for the 2024 season supporting juniors and adults alike to develop their game further.

Matt and Jan are both Level 4 LTA coaches and the Coaching Team also includes Roger Harrison, a Level 3 LTA Coach.

Tuesdays - Adults

6pm - 7pm: Spanish Drills
"Don't think, just do". Hone your match play skills with drills specifically designed to reflect patterns of play

7pm - 8pm: Doubles Tactics
A session specifically focussing on the skills need to advance your court craft for doubles

Saturdays - Juniors and Adults

9am - 10am: 5 - 7 year olds
10am - 11am: 8 - 10 year olds
11am - 12pm: 11 years +

11am - 12pm: Spanish Drills (Juniors and Adults)
